PSS 02-150M-714 - Dripless Shaft Seal 150 mm, 7 1/4" Stern Tube
The PSS 02-150M-714 Dripless Shaft Seal is an advanced mechanical face seal designed for marine applications. Its innovative design features a stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange, creating a reliable sealing surface. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows and fits over the stern tube, ensuring a tight seal with the help of hose clamps. The rotor compresses the bellows, maintaining constant contact between the two flat surfaces, which allows for compensation of movement caused by propeller thrust.
With the ability to accommodate misalignment and vibrations, the carbon flange is over-bored to the shaft diameter allowing it to float, enhancing durability. The rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings that rotate with the assembly, ensuring minimal wear during operation.
Temperature Limits: -13°F to 425°F (-25°C to 220°C)
Pressure Limits: 50 PSI (3.5 BAR)
Shaft RPM Limits: 7,000 RPM
Carbon Graphite: Lapped to 4 HLB (0.000044" tolerance)
