The PSS 02-150M-700 is a cutting-edge solution for ensuring a reliable seal in marine applications. This dripless shaft seal is designed to provide optimal performance while accommodating movement and vibrations from propeller thrust.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal utilizes a mechanical face seal system. The sealing action occurs between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows and fits over the stern tube, ensuring a tight seal. The stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellows and is then fixed to the shaft with set screws, maintaining constant contact between the rotor and flange. This pre-load allows the seal to adapt to any forward or backward movement generated by the propeller.

Additionally, the carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, effectively compensating for misalignment and vibration issues. The rotor is sealed to the shaft with two O-rings that rotate along with the assembly, eliminating wear during operation.
