The PSS 02-150M-634 is designed for superior performance in marine applications, ensuring a reliable and leak-free operation. This innovative shaft seal utilizes a mechanical face sealing system that effectively handles the demands of propeller thrust while accommodating potential misalignments.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal features a unique sealing mechanism formed between the flat surfaces of a stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange, attached to the bellows with hose clamps, encases the stern tube securely. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft ahead of the carbon flange and is designed to compress the bellows. This pre-load maintains the necessary contact between the rotor and flange, allowing the seal to adapt to the movements caused by propeller thrust.

Additionally, the carbon flange is over-bored to the shaft diameter, enabling it to float and effectively manage misalignment and vibration. The rotor's connection to the shaft is reinforced by two O-rings, which rotate with the assembly and are designed to resist wear during operation.
