The PSS - PYI Type A PSS Shaft Seal is engineered for optimal performance in marine applications. This mechanical face seal utilizes a unique design where a stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange create a reliable sealing surface. The carbon flange, secured to the bellow with hose clamps, accommodates the stern tube and ensures a secure fit. The stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellow, maintaining constant contact with the carbon flange, which compensates for movement due to propeller thrust.

The carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft diameter, effectively addressing misalignment and vibration issues. Sealing is enhanced by two O-rings that rotate with the shaft, ensuring minimal wear during operation.
