The PSS 02-134-300 Dripless Shaft Seal is an advanced mechanical face seal designed for marine applications. It features a unique sealing mechanism that ensures reliability and performance in various conditions.

This shaft seal utilizes a stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange to create a secure sealing surface. The carbon flange is secured to the front of the bellow with hose clamps, while the bellow itself fits over the stern tube and is also secured with clamps. The rotor compresses the bellow, ensuring constant contact between the flat surfaces of the rotor and flange. This design allows the PSS to adapt to the shifting movements caused by propeller thrust.

To accommodate misalignment and vibration, the carbon flange is over-bored to the shaft diameter, enabling it to "float" around the shaft. The rotor is sealed using two recessed O-rings that rotate with the shaft, ensuring minimal wear during operation.
