The PSS 02-130M-800 is designed for reliable and efficient sealing in marine applications. This advanced mechanical face seal ensures minimal leakage and optimal performance, making it a vital component for stern tube installations.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal utilizes a mechanical face seal mechanism. It features a sealing surface formed between the flat rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellow's front side using hose clamps, while the back end fits over the stern tube and is also fastened with hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft ahead of the carbon flange, compressing the bellow before securing it with set-screws. This pre-compression maintains constant contact between the rotor and flange, allowing the seal to adapt to the fore and aft movements caused by propeller thrust.

The carbon flange is designed to fit over the shaft diameter, which allows it to float and compensate for misalignment and vibration. Additionally, the rotor is sealed to the shaft with two O-rings that are recessed into the collar's bore. These O-rings rotate with the shaft and rotor, ensuring they do not wear during operation.
