The PSS 02-130M-734 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for superior performance and reliability in marine applications. This mechanical face seal features a unique design that ensures a tight seal between the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange, effectively preventing leaks and maintaining operational integrity.

Constructed with a stationary carbon flange attached to the bellow, which fits over the stern tube and is secured with hose clamps, the system allows for efficient compression of the bellow by the stainless-steel rotor. This compression, or pre-load, ensures continuous contact between the rotor and flange, accommodating any fore and aft movement caused by propeller thrust. The carbon flange’s over-bored design permits it to adjust around the shaft, helping to counter misalignment and vibration issues.

The stainless-steel rotor is equipped with two O-rings that create a seal around the shaft. These O-rings are recessed within the bore of the collar, rotating with the shaft and rotor, which prevents wear during operation.
