The PSS 02-130M-700 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed for reliable performance in marine applications. This shaft seal offers a robust solution for preventing water ingress in stern tubes, ensuring longevity and efficiency.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal employs a mechanical face seal mechanism, where a flat surface is formed between a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellow's front side using hose clamps, while the back end of the bellow connects over the stern tube, also secured by hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellow and is fixed to the shaft with set-screws, ensuring constant contact between the rotor and flange. This design allows the seal to accommodate variable movements caused by propeller thrust.

The carbon flange is engineered to float around the shaft, effectively compensating for misalignments and vibrations. Sealing is enhanced by two O-rings recessed within the collar, which rotate with the shaft and rotor, minimizing wear during operation.
