The PSS 02-130M-612 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed for optimal performance in marine applications. This advanced mechanical face seal utilizes a unique combination of materials and engineering to ensure a reliable, dripless operation.
Type B PSS Shaft Seal features a mechanical face seal where the sealing surface is formed between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange, secured with hose clamps to the bellow, allows for effective sealing while accommodating movement. The stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellow, maintaining constant contact with the carbon flange, which compensates for the thrust-induced movement of the propeller.
Additionally, the carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, effectively addressing misalignment and vibration issues. The rotor is sealed to the shaft with two recessed O-rings that rotate with the assembly, ensuring minimal wear during operation.
