PSS 02-120M-612 - Dripless Shaft Seal 120 mm, 6 1/2" Stern Tube
The PSS 02-120M-612 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for optimal performance in marine applications. It features a Type B mechanical face seal design that ensures a reliable and leak-free operation. The seal is composed of a stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange, creating a secure sealing surface. The carbon flange is attached to the bellow with hose clamps, while the bellow fits snugly over the stern tube, also secured by hose clamps.
The stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellow, maintaining a constant preload that allows for effective compensation of movement caused by propeller thrust. The design includes a carbon flange that floats around the shaft, accommodating misalignment and reducing vibration issues. Additionally, the rotor is sealed to the shaft with two O-rings that rotate with the shaft, ensuring minimal wear over time.
