The PSS 02-115M-700 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for reliable performance in marine applications. This mechanical face seal features a unique design that ensures a secure and effective sealing surface, formed between the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is mounted to the bellows, which is clamped tightly to the stern tube, providing a robust connection that withstands the rigors of marine environments.

The stainless-steel rotor is positioned on the shaft before the carbon flange, allowing for optimal compression of the bellows. This pre-load guarantees continuous contact between the rotor and flange, accommodating any axial movement caused by propeller thrust. Additionally, the carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, which helps mitigate misalignment and vibration issues.

Sealing integrity is maintained through two O-rings that fit snugly within the collar's bore, rotating with the shaft and rotor without wear, ensuring longevity and performance. This innovative design allows the PSS 02-115M-700 to handle extreme temperature and pressure conditions effectively.
