The PSS 02-115M-534 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for reliable performance in marine applications. This innovative product provides a robust solution for sealing the stern tube, ensuring durability and efficiency.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal utilizes a mechanical face seal design, where the sealing surface is formed between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange, securely attached to the bellow with hose clamps, fits over the stern tube, while the rotor compresses the bellow, maintaining constant contact between the two surfaces. This design allows the shaft seal to accommodate variable movements caused by propeller thrust.

The carbon flange is over-bored to the shaft diameter, allowing it to "float" and effectively handle misalignment and vibration. Sealing is achieved through two O-rings recessed into the collar, which rotate with the shaft and rotor, ensuring minimal wear during operation.
