The PSS 02-110M-614 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed to provide a reliable and efficient sealing solution for marine applications. Its innovative design ensures optimal performance even under varying conditions.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal utilizes a mechanical face seal, where the sealing surface is formed between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the front of the bellow using hose clamps, while the bellow's rear end fits over the stern tube and is also secured with hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft in front of the carbon flange, compressing the bellow before being fastened to the shaft with set-screws. This pre-load maintains continuous contact between the rotor and flange, allowing the seal to adjust for any forward or backward movement caused by propeller thrust. The carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, accommodating misalignment and vibration issues. The rotor is sealed to the shaft by two recessed O-rings that rotate with the shaft, ensuring minimal wear during operation.
