The PSS 02-105M-634 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered to provide reliable sealing performance for marine applications. This innovative design ensures minimal leakage and enhances the longevity of your vessel's stern tube system.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal operates as a mechanical face seal. It features a sealing surface formed between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the front of the bellow with hose clamps, while the back end of the bellow fits over the stern tube and is also secured with hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft in front of the carbon flange, where it compresses the bellow before being fixed to the shaft with set-screws. This pre-load maintains constant contact between the stainless-steel rotor and the carbon flange, allowing the seal to adapt to variable movements caused by propeller thrust.

The carbon flange is designed with an over-bored diameter, allowing it to float around the shaft and effectively compensate for misalignment and vibration issues. The stainless-steel rotor is sealed to the shaft using two recessed O-rings in the collar, which rotate with the shaft and rotor, preventing wear during operation.
