PSS 02-105M-534 - Dripless Shaft Seal 105 mm, 5 3/4" Stern Tube
The PSS 02-105M-534 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for superior performance and reliability in marine applications. Its innovative design ensures effective sealing, accommodating the dynamic movements of the stern tube and propeller thrust.
The Type B PSS Shaft Seal utilizes a mechanical face seal, where the sealing surface is formed between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is mounted to the front side of the bellow with hose clamps, while the rear fits over the stern tube, also secured by hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is attached to the shaft, compressing the bellow to maintain constant contact between its two flat faces, allowing the seal to adjust for variable axial movement.
Designed with a carbon flange that is over-bored to the shaft diameter, this seal can “float” around the shaft, effectively addressing misalignment and vibration issues. The rotor is sealed to the shaft by two recessed O-rings that rotate in sync with the rotor, minimizing wear during operation.

Pressure Limits: 3.5 BAR (50 PSI)
Shaft Speed Limits: 7,000 rpm
