Kobelt 7065 - Steering Cylinder 2 1/2, Balanced and Unbalanced Versions, Bronze & Stainless Steel Construction
The Kobelt 7065 Steering Cylinder is a robust and highly durable component designed for marine vessels requiring precision in steering and rudder movement. This cylinder is available in both balanced and unbalanced versions, providing flexibility in terms of sizing and performance. Constructed from high-quality bronze and stainless steel, the 7065 ensures long-lasting reliability even in harsh marine environments. It is available with a full power follow-up version (7065-S), further expanding its versatility for various boat sizes and steering needs.
The balanced version of the Kobelt 7065 Steering Cylinder offers torque ranging from 2,454 to 3,926 lbs. ft. [340 to 543 kg/m] at a 35-degree rudder angle, with stroke and displacement ranges from 10” to 16” [254mm to 406mm] and 41 in³ to 66 in³ [672 cm³ to 1,082 cm³], respectively. For unbalanced versions, when using two cylinders, the torque increases to 5,375 to 8,599 lbs. ft. [744 to 1,190 kg/m], while maintaining the same stroke and displacement ranges. Kobelt advises performing a steering gear torque or rudder calculation before sizing or ordering to ensure the correct combination of pressure, displacement, stroke, parts, and torque. The 7065 is compatible with various Kobelt products such as 7040, 7050, 7080, and 7093.
