The Kobelt 5022-S Spring Applied Brake Caliper is engineered for exceptional performance in long-term parking brake applications, where the spring keeps the brake applied and fluid pressure is used to release it. Designed to meet the demands of various industrial environments, this brake caliper is ideal for applications where fluid pressure cannot be stored for long periods of time. The 5022-S features a clamping force of 18,320 lbf (81.5 kN) and is built to last with a durable die-cast silicon bronze construction, paired with stainless steel hardware and rolled alloy steel tie rods. The brake can be controlled infinitely with hydraulic fluid or air, providing precise and proportional brake force adjustments.

The 5022-S brake caliper offers flexibility with its availability in hydraulic or air actuator configurations, allowing it to be tailored to specific needs. It operates with 2" (51mm) ventilated discs, with disc diameters ranging from 18" (457mm) to 50" (1270mm). With a total lining area of 86 sq. in. (555 sq. cm) and a maximum disc thickness of 2.0 in. (51 mm), the 5022-S is highly efficient and reliable. It also features replaceable shoes and pads for long-term maintenance, and the spring tension can be maintained almost indefinitely. For custom applications, shim kits are available to adjust the brake caliper for discs smaller than the standard thickness.
