Kobelt 5019-S - Spring Applied Brake Caliper, Hydraulic or Pneumatic, Asbestos-Free, Adjustable Springs, Durable Bronze & Stainless Steel
The Kobelt 5019-S Spring Applied Brake Caliper is a reliable and versatile braking solution designed for both hydraulic and pneumatic applications. This brake caliper utilizes a spring applied actuator, which requires fluid pressure to release the brake, providing proportional brake force. The caliper is engineered with an "O" ring and piston construction that ensures compatibility with both hydraulic fluid and air, making it durable and long-lasting even under harsh conditions. The brake caliper is ideal for applications that require consistent and adjustable braking forces, as the actuator is available with a variety of spring combinations, including adjustable springs for different brake torques.
Constructed from die-cast silicon bronze with stainless steel hardware, the Kobelt 5019-S offers exceptional corrosion resistance and strength. The standard asbestos-free brake lining provides a coefficient of friction between 0.45 and 0.55, and remains stable up to 750°F (400°C). Additionally, the brake design includes detachable brake shoe bearings, allowing the installation of shims between the bearing and brake shoes to adjust clearance and accommodate various disc thicknesses. This feature, along with the ability to handle discs up to ¾" thick, makes the 5019-S brake caliper highly adaptable. It is available in foot mount or side mount configurations, and various custom-made discs can be ordered as needed.
