Kobelt 5023-A - Fluid Applied Brake Caliper, 16000 lbf Clamping Force, 100 psi Max Pressure, 2" Ventilated Disc, Proportional Brake Torque
The Kobelt 5023-A Fluid Applied Brake Caliper is specifically designed for high-torque stopping applications, making it ideal for emergency stops and propeller shaft installations. This caliper is compatible with Kobelt’s 2" x 4" ventilated disc series, and its fluid-applied design allows for precise control over braking force. The brake caliper is equipped with two fluid supply ports, and in most cases, only one is needed for connection to the control source. By varying the control pressure, users can achieve an absolutely proportional increase or decrease in brake torque, offering highly sensitive and adjustable braking control. It is available in both air and spring applied configurations, and its maximum fluid supply pressure is 100 psi (6.9 bar).
Built with durable die-cast silicon bronze and stainless steel hardware, the 5023-A is reliable and robust for demanding braking needs. It operates with discs ranging from 18" to 50" in diameter and delivers up to 16,000 lbf (71.1 kN) of clamping force. The 5023-A is designed for minimal maintenance with its replaceable shoes and pads. Additionally, Kobelt offers shim kits for caliper adjustment when using discs smaller than the standard thickness. This makes it a versatile solution for a wide range of applications, ensuring consistent performance in emergency or high-torque braking situations.
