This caliper is a derivative of the 5021, where in fact the two brakes are combined into one. This doubles the clamping forces and also increases the clamping area. 5022 is a very compact caliper and is ideal for installation in a limited space. Most parts for 5022 are interchangeable with the 5021 model. The drives are equipped with two ports each. Only one port is required to connect to the management source in most applications. The maximum feed pressure to the caliper is 100 psi (6.9 bar). The bearings are detached from the brake shoe and alignment plates may be installed between the two members to reduce the clearance between the brake pads. The pusher on the air actuator also has an adjustment which can be used for the least wear of the brake pads. This will avoid excessive use of compressed air when the brake pedal is pressed.
