5028-CM brakes are operated in heavy industrial conditions, equipped with a bifunctional brake drive, which can provide reliability and accuracy in any braking. In the upper chamber of the drive, the air pressure necessary to overcome the spring pressure is created. In the absence of air pressure, the spring will provide the necessary force for emergency braking. The upper spring can provide only more than half of the braking force. The lower part is dominated by increased air pressure on the diaphragm with a light spring for normal braking. The combination of these mechanisms leads to sensitive and accurate operation of the braking system. The wedge mechanism consists of a wedge and rollers that push the levers from each other, thus, using pressure on the brake disc, a very accurate brake torque control is created.
