Used in manual hydraulic steering system, installation with hydraulic pressure source is required. 7201 is designed specifically for high-quality work in autopilot. It is available with 12 or 24 DC volts. The pump itself can be used on a permanent basis, but the engine will overheat if the pump is set at a high level and relatively high pressure. The maximum current to allow the motor to operate on a non-constant basis is approximately 30 amps per 12 volts of engine and 15 amps for 24 volts. A lock valve is installed on the pump to prevent feedback in the hydraulic steering system. Both pumps and motors are equipped with ball bearings. The pump is made of silicon and bronze, with stainless steel hardware with hardened steel pistons.
