Kobelt 7050 - 2 Steering Cylinder, Balanced and Unbalanced Versions, Bronze & Stainless Steel Construction
The Kobelt 7050 Steering Cylinder is a highly durable and solid steering component designed to provide excellent strength and flexibility in rudder movement for marine vessels. It is available in both balanced and unbalanced versions, making it versatile for a wide range of marine applications. The 7050 cylinder is constructed with high-quality bronze and stainless steel, ensuring long-term reliability and corrosion resistance in harsh marine environments. This cylinder is engineered to handle different torque, stroke, and displacement requirements, and is suitable for use in vessels up to 300 HP.
The balanced version of the Kobelt 7050 Steering Cylinder offers torque ranges from 1,205 to 1,948 lbs. ft. [167 to 267 kg-m] at a 35-degree rudder angle, with stroke and displacement ranges of 7.5” to 12” [191mm to 305mm] and 20.3 in³ to 32.4 in³ [333 cm³ to 531 cm³], respectively. In the unbalanced configuration, when using two cylinders, the torque increases significantly, ranging from 2,608 to 4,171 lbs. ft. [361 to 578 kg/m], with a similar stroke and displacement range. Kobelt advises performing a steering gear torque or rudder calculation before sizing or ordering the system to ensure optimal performance. The 7050 steering cylinder is compatible with a variety of Kobelt products such as 7040, 7065, 7080, and 7093.
