Kobelt 7040 - 1.5 Steering Cylinder, Balanced and Unbalanced Versions, Bronze & Stainless Steel Construction
The Kobelt 7040 Steering Cylinder is a high-performance, durable steering component designed to provide flexibility and strength in marine applications. It is available in both balanced and unbalanced versions to meet a wide range of needs for various marine vessels. The 7040 cylinder is constructed from robust bronze and stainless steel, ensuring long-lasting durability and reliability. This steering cylinder is perfect for optimizing rudder movement and performance, offering a variety of torque, stroke, and displacement options based on your vessel's specifications.
The balanced version of the Kobelt 7040 Steering Cylinder offers torque ranges from 428 to 869 lbs. ft. [57 to 120 kg-m] at a 35-degree rudder angle, with stroke and displacement ranges of 5.5” to 10” [139.7mm to 254mm] and 8 in³ to 14.6 in³ [131cm³ to 239cm³] respectively. For unbalanced configurations, when two cylinders are used, the torque increases to a range of 1,056 to 1,921 lbs. ft. [146 to 266 kg/m], with a similar stroke and displacement range. This versatility makes the Kobelt 7040 suitable for a wide range of marine vessels. Before ordering, it’s essential to conduct a steering gear torque or rudder calculation to ensure the correct specifications for your system.
