Gori Propeller 20x14x3LHS-SD40-60 - Folding Propeller 20x14x3LHS for Sail Drive
The 3-blade Gori folding propeller, honored with the DAME Award and HISWA Award in 1994, represents a groundbreaking advancement in sailing yacht propulsion. Its innovative design allows both larger sailing yachts and motor sailers to harness the speed advantages under sail and the thrust of a fixed propeller under motor.
The wing curvature of the 3-blade Gori folding propeller ensures excellent thrust in both forward and reverse, providing superior power and maneuvering properties compared to other propellers. The distinctive "Overdrive" function allows the helmsman to adjust pitch and profile during forward motion, enhancing motorized driving without delicate hydraulics or complicated mechanics.
Suitable for engines from 10hp to 300hp, this propeller breaks size constraints, making folding propellers available for engines over 300 hp. The special design minimizes noise and vibration issues, commonly found in rotary blade propellers. Available in diameters from 15” to 30” for standard shafting and 15” to 20” for saildrive configurations, it offers versatility in installation.
Advantage under Sail: The low profile when folded minimizes drag, proven by independent tests, resulting in increased boat speed under sail. This enhancement in speed adds overall value to your boat.
The shape of the folding propeller prevents debris entanglement during sailing, distinguishing it from traditional rotary blade propellers. With hydraulic gearboxes, the expensive installation of a shaft brake can be avoided without compromising the gearbox's durability.
Performance under Engine: Tests by leading yachting magazines confirm a significant efficiency boost (+15%) in both forward and reverse compared to other folding or rotary blade propellers, attributed to the unique curvature and rotation of the propeller blades.
Saildrive Propellers: The Gori Saildrive Propeller features a hub with a flexible core acting as a shock absorber and electrically isolating the propeller from the saildrive, meeting engine manufacturers' requirements. A safety system in the hub ensures durability and maneuverability, designed for popular sail drives such as Bukh, Sonic, Volvo-Penta (including 50S and 100S drives), Yanmar, and more.
