Gori Propeller 15x11x3RHx1:10W25 - Folding Propeller 15x11x3RH for 25mm ISO shaft
The Gori 3-blade folding propeller, introduced in 1994 and honored with the DAME Award and HISWA Award, represents a significant leap in propeller technology for sailing yachts. Its innovative design caters to both larger sailing yachts and motor sailers, offering the dual benefits of speed advantages under sail and the thrust of a fixed propeller under motor.
The wing curvature of the 3-blade Gori folding propeller ensures exceptional thrust in both forward and reverse, providing superior maneuvering properties compared to most other propellers. A standout feature is the "Overdrive" function, allowing the helmsman to dynamically adjust pitch and profile during forward motion, controlled effortlessly through the boat's single lever shift without the need for delicate hydraulics or complex mechanics.
Utilized under power in calm weather or when powering under sail, the "Overdrive" function maintains the same speed at lower revs, resulting in reduced engine noise, vibration, and fuel consumption. Its operation involves a simple shift from normal ahead to "overdrive" via reverse, followed by a shift back to ahead. Returning from "overdrive" to normal ahead requires shifting gears to neutral, propeller folding, and shifting back to ahead, setting the Gori folding propeller apart from others in the market.
Suitable for engines from 7kW (10hp) - 221kW (300hp)
Breaking convention, the Gori folding propeller is now available for engines over 300 hp, expanding its benefits to large sailing yachts and motor sailers. The result of its special design is a reduction in noise and vibration, addressing common issues associated with rotary blade propellers with flat blades.
Available in diameters from 15” to 30” for standard shafting and 15” to 20” for saildrive configurations, the Gori 3-blade folding propeller excels in providing the lowest drag, proven by independent tests. This translates to an increase in boat speed under sail, enhancing the overall value of your vessel. The unique shape prevents debris entanglement and ensures the propeller remains closed when sailing, eliminating the need for an expensive shaft brake in vessels with hydraulic gearboxes.
Performance under engine
Tests conducted by leading yachting magazines and independent organizations affirm the Gori folding propeller's significantly higher efficiency in both advance (+15%) and reverse (+15%) compared to other folding or rotary blade propellers. This efficiency is attributed to the special curvature and rotation of the propeller blades, optimizing under-powered thrust that is often compromised in flat-blade designs of rotary blade propellers.
