Gori Propeller 26x20x3RHx1:10W45 - Folding Propeller 26x20x3RH for 45mm ISO shaft
The Gori 3-blade folding propeller, introduced in 1994 and recipient of the prestigious DAME Award and HISWA Award, signifies a remarkable leap in propeller technology for sailing yachts. Catering to both larger sailing vessels and motor sailers, it seamlessly combines the speed advantages under sail with the thrust of a fixed propeller under motor.
Featuring a unique wing curvature, the Gori folding propeller excels in providing excellent thrust both ahead and in reverse, offering superior maneuvering properties compared to other propellers. The standout "Overdrive" function introduces a new dimension to motorized driving, allowing the helmsman to adjust pitch and profile without the need for delicate hydraulics or complex mechanics.
The "Overdrive" function, utilized in calm weather or when powering under sail, reduces engine noise, vibration, and fuel consumption by maintaining the same speed at lower revs. Its simplicity involves shifting from normal ahead to "overdrive" via reverse, moving the ship clearly backwards, then shifting back to ahead. Returning from "overdrive" to normal ahead involves shifting gears to neutral, propeller folding, and shifting back to ahead.
The Gori folding propeller's distinct features, including the "Overdrive" function and propeller turning during maneuvering, set it apart from other propellers in the market.
Suitable for engines from 7kW (10hp) - 221kW (300hp)
Breaking the tradition of being reserved for smaller vessels, the Gori folding propeller is now available for engines over 300 hp. This expansion enables large sailing yachts and motor sailers to harness the unique advantages offered by the Gori 3-bladed propeller.
The propeller's special design minimizes noise and vibration, addressing common issues associated with rotary blade propellers with flat blades. Available in diameters from 15” to 30” for standard shafting and 15” to 20” for saildrive configurations, the Gori folding propeller caters to diverse vessel requirements.
Advantage under sail
The low profile when folded results in the lowest drag among 3-blade folding and rotary blade propellers, proven by independent tests. This leads to an increase in boat speed under sail, enhancing the overall value of your vessel. Why sail slowly?
The propeller's shape prevents debris from getting caught on it and avoids propeller opening when sailing. For vessels with hydraulic gearboxes, the Gori propeller eliminates the need for an expensive shaft brake, ensuring durability without compromise.
Performance under engine
Tests by leading yachting magazines and independent organizations confirm the Gori folding propeller's significant higher efficiency in both advance (+15%) and reverse (+15%) compared to other folding or rotary blade propellers. This efficiency is attributed to the special curvature and rotation of the propeller blades, optimizing under-powered thrust that is not achieved with flat-blade designs of rotary blade propellers.
