Advanced Genverter Technology

The Whisper Power M-GV 4 utilizes Genverter© technology, which integrates advanced diesel engine technologies with a novel approach to energy generation. Unlike traditional generators with fixed-speed alternators mounted on the engine flywheel, this model features a highly compact permanent magnet alternator located behind the engine. This results in a smaller, lighter generator that delivers high performance with minimal space requirements.

Customer Benefits

The generator’s output voltage is independent of RPM, which allows the engine revolutions to be optimized for a balance of power output, noise, and vibration. Typically, the ideal RPM is around 2300, providing both efficiency and quiet operation. The permanent magnet alternator is cooled using the same circuit as the engine, simplifying installation and maintenance.

This model is compatible with DC power grids, such as the Whisper Power DC PowerCube 24V/150A, which can be directly connected to the generator. In a boat’s electrical circuit, this allows for a current range of 0 A to 150 A, depending on the load requirements. The Genverter system is a hybrid generator, with variable-speed operation that produces up to 32 A of alternating current at 230 V/50 Hz. When additional power is required, the optional WPC Power Center can be added to further convert DC power to synchronized AC power, automatically managing battery charging when necessary.
