Victron Energy ASS030550500 – VE.Direct TX Digital Output Cable provides a simple yet powerful interface for expanding the functionality of Victron SmartSolar and BlueSolar MPPT charge controllers. It supports two key functions: PWM light dimming for solar lighting systems and virtual load output for charge controllers lacking a built-in load output.

Function 1: Solar Lighting (PWM Dimming)

The cable connects the VE.Direct TX pin of the MPPT controller to the PWM dimming input of an LED driver. This allows automatic dimming of LED lighting based on configurable settings in the VictronConnect app. Dimming reduces energy consumption and improves lighting availability, especially in low-charge scenarios.

VictronConnect Configuration:

• Settings > Tx port function: Light dimming (normal/inverted)

Function 2: Virtual Load Output

For larger MPPT models (e.g., MPPT 100/30 and up) without built-in load outputs, the TX cable can control an external BatteryProtect module or solid-state relay to safely switch loads on or off.

Connection Overview:

• TX (white) → BatteryProtect Remote H terminal
• GND (black) → BatteryProtect GND

Alternative Option:

• Use with SolidSwitch 104 or similar solid-state relay

VictronConnect Configuration:

• Settings > Tx port function: Virtual load output
