The BS-500 DUAL is designed to manage dual battery systems commonly found in boats, motorhomes, and caravans. It uses a microprocessor-controlled heavy-duty relay to automatically link batteries in parallel when one battery reaches a charging voltage and disconnects when voltage falls, ensuring optimal battery performance without voltage loss.
- Automatically connects batteries at 13.2V / 26.4V for at least 5 seconds, indicating charging.
- Disconnects batteries if voltage drops below 12.8V / 25.6V for at least 5 seconds, indicating discharge.
- Virtually no voltage drop, eliminating the need to increase alternator or charger output voltage.
- Easy installation without modifying existing wiring, suitable for alternators that do not accept battery isolators.
- Bi-directional function: if a charger is connected to the second battery and its voltage rises, the starter battery is also recharged.
- Switch opens after voltage drops below 12.8V (25.6V) for 60 seconds once charger is removed, preserving starter battery health.
