Nasa Target Electromagnetic Speed Log, 12V, 132 x 98 x 30 mm
The Nasa Target electromagnetic speed log accurately measures the speed of a boat through the water without the need for any moving parts. This log utilizes a robust sensor that generates an alternating magnetic field beneath the boat and measures the resulting electric field produced by the boat's movement.
Designed to be installed in most types of GRP hulls, the Nasa Target electromagnetic speed log offers exceptional linearity and a resolution of 0.1 Knot. It can measure boat speeds ranging from 0.2 to 40 Knots. The log sensor sends signals to a control box, which then converts the sensor signal into boat speed, trip distance, and total distance. This valuable data is transmitted in NMEA 0183 format to a new Target EM Log display unit.
Target EM Log Display
The Target EM Log display features a compact size case measuring 132 x 98mm and a high contrast LCD for easy visibility. It accepts NMEA 0183 input and displays the boat speed in Knots. Additionally, it provides logs for trip distance and total distance, both measured in nautical miles. The display unit is equipped with backlighting for enhanced visibility in various lighting conditions.
EM Transducer and Interface Box
The EM transducer and interface box of the Nasa Target electromagnetic speed log offer a speed range of 0.2 to 40 Knots. It provides NMEA 0183 output sentences VLW and VHW. The transducer has a standard 50mm diameter and comes with a cable length of 5.0 metres.
