Digital Yacht ZDIGPLINK2 - PilotLINK2, Class A Pilot Plug WiFi Interface
The Digital Yacht ZDIGPLINK2 PilotLINK2 is a second-generation wireless interface designed to bridge the gap between traditional Class A AIS transponders and modern mobile devices. While many newer Class A AIS transponders already have integrated wireless capabilities, the PilotLINK2 is a solution for vessels with older transponders that rely on the standard Pilot Plug interface. This compact device allows maritime professionals, such as pilots and survey ship captains, to wirelessly access AIS and GPS data via their iPads, tablets, PCs, or Macs. The PilotLINK2 creates a secure, password-protected wireless network or can join an existing onboard Wi-Fi network, offering convenience and flexibility for modern navigation and ship monitoring.
Setting up the PilotLINK2 is easy and straightforward. The device is USB-powered, making it portable and easy to connect to any standard Pilot Plug connector. Once powered, the device allows access to a web interface through your mobile device, where users can configure settings such as wireless network names and passwords, as well as display critical navigation data like GPS, heading, and rate of turn. The device also features a raw NMEA 0183 data log function for detailed analysis. It is compatible with a wide range of apps like iSailor, Navionics, and Weather 4D, and supports both TCP/IP and UDP protocols, making it a versatile tool for any Class A AIS user.
