Digital Yacht ZDIGIKVTUSB - iConvert – NMEA2000 to USB
The Digital Yacht ZDIGIKVTUSB iKonvert NMEA 2000 to USB converter serves as a versatile gateway, facilitating the seamless integration of software applications with NMEA2000 data. It offers the capability to read/write NMEA2000 data, either in RAW binary PGN format for in-depth analysis and control, or as converted NMEA0183 data for compatibility with a wide range of marine navigation apps running on PC/MAC/LINUX computers.
The iKonvert device simplifies access to navigation data on an NMEA2000 network with its intuitive setup. Users can easily configure the device via DIP switches to extract the desired data mode, which is then provided to marine apps in a format and baud rate they support.
For developers and advanced users, iKonvert can be set to "RAW Mode," allowing direct access to data using a simple serial data format published on the iKonvert Github site. Integration with iKonvert doesn't require proprietary code or special libraries, attracting interest from developers. Additionally, iKonvert is compatible with CanBoat and Signal K Node Server.
The compact iKonvert Gateway features an integral USB cable and standard NMEA2000 Micro drop cable, drawing power from the NMEA2000 network. It offers full galvanic isolation between the USB interface and NMEA2000 networks for enhanced safety. Operating at various baud rates, including 230KB in "RAW mode" and 4.8KB, 38.4KB, or 115KB in NMEA0183 conversion modes, iKonvert offers flexibility without the need for special configuration software or firmware changes.
The USB interface of iKonvert utilizes an FTDI chip, ensuring reliable and compatible USB drivers for popular systems such as Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android. An ISO version of iKonvert is also available for direct connection between NMEA2000 and NMEA0183 systems.
