Easily and precisely adjustable in length. Performs two important functions: 1) a sturdy, precisely adjustable tiller extension - 2) acts as a steering lock, performing the same function as a wheel lock for steering wheels. When secured in the socket, it holds the tiller in the desired position. A simple turn of the handle is enough to unlock the rod mechanism and allow the selection of a new position, which is re-locked when the handle is released. To use as a traditional extension, simply remove the rod from the socket. While sailing, it allows you to fix the tiller at any time to perform other operations, while in port or at anchor it serves to lock the steering.
