The Uflex 65302J gas spring acts like a pneumatic muscle, mainly used to open and hold doors or hatches in place. It works by using compressed nitrogen gas inside a tube, which creates an extension force due to pressure differences between the tube and the atmosphere. A self-cleaning valve inside the piston rod allows the gas to move and push the rod out. The tube contains a small amount of oil for lubrication and to smooth the motion.
- Optimal mounting angle is 30° to the vertical, with the piston rod directed toward the pivot point for best damping.
- For installations with large opening angles, align the piston rod toward the pivot point to improve movement damping beyond horizontal.
- Total length is measured between the centers of the end fittings when fully extended.
- Rod diameter is generally 8 mm, except for part numbers 00135220, 00135221, and 00135222, which have 10 mm rods.
