- Customized Filtration: Choose between the 10 μ and 30 μ replaceable filter elements to match your filtration requirements. The 10 μ element provides finer cleaning, but it may require more frequent replacement. Meanwhile, the 30 μ option is recommended for larger fuel tanks that are infrequently refueled or when lower-quality fuel is used.
- Compatible with Spin-On and Centrifuge Filters: These replaceable filter elements are designed to work seamlessly with both Spin-on and centrifuge filters, ensuring compatibility with your existing filtration system.
- Always Be Prepared: Vetus recommends keeping a spare filter element on board, whether as a backup filter in the filter assembly or as a separate, removable filter element. This ensures you're ready to address filtration needs when required.
Vetus provides Spin-on filters with a standard 10 μ filter element and centrifuge filters with a 30 μ option. The choice between the two depends on your specific fuel tank size, refill frequency, and fuel quality. The 10 μ filter element offers finer cleaning but may need more frequent replacement. On the other hand, the 30 μ element is suitable for larger tanks with rare refueling or when dealing with lower-quality fuels.
Recognizing the difference between the two types is straightforward: the 30 μ filter element is identified by its blue color, while the 10 μ element is red. The filtering level is also indicated by the code, with "B" (blue) for 30 μ and "R" (red) for 10 μ. The product code is always printed on the filter element itself for easy identification.
Replaceable filter elements for "Spin-on" filters consist of the filter element itself and a storage tank with a transparent cover to contain filtered dirt and water. This design minimizes spillage during replacement, and you won't need any specialized tools for the task.
